Ramble, Ramble No. 1

I can see myself going alot of these posts in the future! HA!

YSL Lipstick in Lingerie Pink. LOVE it!

I am loving college at the moment. All the girls(and 1 boy) are really nice and friendly! The day flies by because Im enjoying the course so much! I get to practice makeup 3/4 days Im in. The rest of the time is concentrated on Theory and Portfolio Presentation.
I just ordered my Mac makeup Kit yesterday, there's so much stuff in it! Im going to do a separate post listing all the products ill be getting! :) The only thing Im not liking is the early starts! Getting up at 7ish is not agreeing with me :( We all do it I suppose!

I havent been blogging too much, partially because of college but also because of work. A few people left recently which means they are short staffed on certain days so I am getting more extra hours over the past few weeks. I only used to work saturdays but have started working sundays now too. Thinking of the money I can spend on clothes, makeup and drink gets me through it!

I am so broke this month, after paying for my Mac makeup Kit but I REALLY want the YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in both Lingerie Pink and Nude Beige. I swatched them when I was in town the other day. They are so creamy and are gorgeous colours! I didnt check the price though, which Im kinda scared to do! EEK!

Finally......

I started my makeup course!

I dont start proper classes until tomorrow ( I have ever monday off ) but I am so excited. I was in for 2hours last week for an induction day and so far, so good!
The 3 tutors that I have have all worked in tv, film, and fashion and have loads experience. One of my tutors is one of the makeup artists on The Tudors!!
The course content is brilliant as it covers high fashion makeup, to special effects makeup, to theatre and media makeup to airbrushing etc. This is definately one of the main reasons I chose this, it covers all types of makeup which is useful!
On the first day they showed us a portfolio belonging to one of the girls who did the course the year before! It was HUGE! There was so much work put into it! They warned us that it wasnt going to be easy and I have a feeling they're right! To make a great portfolio, im going to have to put alot of time and effort into it which I am more than willing to do. I just cant wait to get started!
Some of the looks that are required for our portfolio are High fashion, ballet/dancer, oriental/geisha, a certain period eg. 1920's, old age, an animal, and a victim of violence!
Also, they gave us the list of the Mac makeup kit we will be recieving and I could not believe it! There are about 60 products including 6 foundations, 3 concealers, 8 brushes, 16 eyeshadows, 4 lipsticks, powders and lip and eye pencils etc. OOh can't wait to get it!!!
I also have to get a special effects kit which is cool too!

Ill keep updating how I am getting on and what Im learning! So excited!
Until then xxx

My Wish-List No. 1

Paul's Boutique Diamond Large Twister bag

Love this bag! So funky! Its on Asos, but its 80euro! I think its worth it! Its pretty big and I only ever use big bags!

Asos Stiletto ankle boots

I've wanted ankle boots for ages now but could never find the right pair. I LOVE these ones, I think they come in black too and have a splash of colour at the heel!

Mac Amber Lights Eyeshadow

I love bronze colours and this one is AMAZING!

Mac 109 Brush

I've been really into contouring lately. Im currently using a simple small blusher brush with no brand name that I found in my makeup collection but something tells me this brush would do a better job!

Hope you guys enjoyed xx

R.I.P Stephen Gately

Boyzone have always and will forever be my favourtie boyband of all time. I am absolutely devastated that Stephen Gately has died! He was my favourite member. When I think back to my younger years, Boyzone and Stephen Gately played a huge part, so I feel a part of my childhood is gone. R.I.P Stephen x

One minute your IN, the next you're OUT!!

Hey Girls!

So I still can't find my camera lead! AHH! Where is it!? I NEED to find it like asap!

Anyway here's my recent In's and Out's. Enjoy!

IN'S
  • Lush Porridge Soap- I finally got to go to Lush when I went to town the other day! I LOVE THIS SOAP! I was planning on buying "Honey I washed the Kids" but I was so disappointed with it :( I was expecting the smell to be more intense I think, it just didnt smell great. Maybe I was just overwhelmed with the other smells happening in the shop!
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural-I promised myself that I wouldnt buy anything in MAC until I received my MAC Pro Card when I start college but I just couldnt help myself. Ive been wanting to try the Mineralize skinfinish for a while and it was so worth buying. It really sets my foundation and gives me a flawless finish! A definite Must-Have!
  • Gossip Girl- Best Show ever! It helps all the guys are super HOT! Ive had a lot of free time lately so decided to catch up on some episodes! I was half way through Season 2 when I was doing my exams in May and with being so busy I stopped watching it. But I've caught up now and can't wait to watch Season 3! Heard its not doing too well in the US tho :(

OUT'S
  • 15th October-Its taking so long for that date to come around. The day my Fashion, Theatre and Media Makeup Course starts! I have NOTHING to do until then coz i only work weekends! I just cant wait to get a routine back in my life!
  • X-Factor-I love this show, I do, BUT I am not really liking the people that have been put through! In particular, the guy with the afro, Jamie Archer i think it is, and the bi-sexual teacher Daryl something. Cheesy and all they do is cry!!
  • Camera Lead-Its seriously just vanished! I know its somewhere in the house, I just do not know where! I am literally guna spend ALL DAY tomorrow looking for it! Such an effort!

I love reading other blogger's IN'S and OUT'S so I like doing my own! :) xx

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah

Just a Random post.
I am REALLY pissed off.
I took loadsa photos for Haul Posts this past week.
I cannot for the life of me, find my camera lead for the laptop!
I remember putting it into the bottom drawer.
It has since VANISHED!
Hence the delay on the Haul posts if anybody cares :)
Also I am counting down the days til the 15th October......
Could it go ANY slower :( BOREDOM!

BY THE WAY.........

Has anyone seen or heard of this show?? "Blush:The search for the next great makeup artist" I was flicking around on Sky Digital, came across a channel called REALLY and this show was on! And of course, with my luck, it was the second last episode! Cant believe it! This is totally MY KINDA SHOW! I've been trying to find episodes online but to no avail :(
But the episode I did watch was SO GOOD! The contestants had to recreate makeup looks made famous by the Hollywood Icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. It was fascinating watching them make up the models and put their own modern twist into it.

Thanks for reading :) xx

Review - NO.7 Mattifying Makeup Base

  • Retails for 14.99 EURO in Boots which isn't too bad compared to some of the prices out there!
  • It's a lovely pearly white colour. The packaging is a decent size considering only a small amount of product is needed.
  • On the back of the tube, it says it can be worn alone or under your foundation however I would not suggest wearing it on its own.
  • Its mattifies the skin the second it is applied. When I first got it, I had no makeup on and decided to try it out on its own which was not a very pleasant experience for my skin :( It's very hard to blend into the skin (which apparently you arent supposed to do??) and leaves the skin feeling rough.
  • SO.....I ALWAYS apply a layer of moisturiser first, leave it a few seconds to soak into the skin and then quickly blend the primer over it!
  • I find foundation goes on so smoothly on top of it with absolutely no shine. It truely does give that matte effect. I use little or no powder as the foundation looks already set.
  • I would highly recommend this product. It is the first primer i've ever used and am interested in any other primers out there if anyone could suggest a few good ones??

Hope this post was helpful! COMMENT :) xxx

MAC Style Black Collection

I cannot wait for this collection to come out.
The USA gets the collection on the 24th September.
Released in the UK and Ireland and the rest of the world as far as I know in early October which gives me some time to save.
I wear dark eyes on a daily basis and really like the look of the 4 eyeshadows. I dont think I'll be purchasing the "Black Knight" lipstick although I like the idea of it.
The Nail Varnishes also appeal to me as well as the

MINERALIZED EYESHADOWS:

Cinderfella-Black with Silver Pearl
Young Punk-Black with Pink/Purple Pearl
Gilt By Association-Black with Gold Bronze Pearl
Blue Flame-Black With Blue Pearl

NAIL LACQUERS:

Nocturnelle-True Black (Permanent)
Seriously Hip-Black With Gold Particle Pearl (Limited Edition)
Baby Goth Girl-Black With Pink and Purple Pearl (Limited Edition)

Happy Birthday Chris Pine!

What A Beautiful Man.

My Favourite Lip Balm EVER!

Lancome's "Aqua Fusion Levres SPF 8 Moisture Glossy Lip Balm"

My Mom buys alot of Lancome skin care items and had this in her makeup bag. I used it and instantly fell in love with it. It is a MUST-HAVE for all makeup bags. Its great to just throw in your handbag!

When applied, it gives a tingly sensation to the lips. It is light blue in colour and leaves a nice glossy but not sticky finish. It has a delicious minty/cucumber flavour which might not be to everybody's taste but I love it!

Its pretty pricey for a lip balm but well worth the cost if you want well hydrated and instantly moisturised lips x

I want.........

A NEW BAG FOR COLLEGE!

This one would be perfect...........
All i need is loadsa MONEY :(
Anyone know a good website with fake relicas??

7 Months later :(

Mac's Hello Kitty Collection was released in February 09. Fafinettex3 was the makeup guru to introduce me to this collection when she did a Haul video dedicated to this collection.

Of course, I immediately loved everything in the collection but the ONE thing i REALLY wanted was the Lip Conditioner in Pink Fish! Ive had so many opportunities to get it, first when the collection came out, second when my friend told me she knew a girl that worked in the airport that could get it at a discounted price for me, and lastly when another friend went to New York a few weeks ago and said she would find a CCO that still stocked it. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I obviously wasn't meant to have this Mac product! :(

Benefit's Brow Zings

I never used to fill in my eyebrow's up until a few months ago. I never really found the need to as my eyebrows are pretty dark on their own.
After realising one day that my Mom had always filled in her eyebrow's, I thought it was about time I started.
I wanted to purchase an eyebrow pencil originally but then I came across this eyebrow kit at my local Benefit counter.
Brow Zing is a wax and powder combination. The brushed supplied are very good and perfectly angled. The tweezers is small which i find difficult to use, therefore I never use it. I've noticed myself using the powder more so than the wax for some reason. The powder is gorgeous though on my eyebrows and lasts all day long. Its incredible! If i was to rate this product, I would give it 9/10 i think! I love it so much and is a vital part of every growing makeup kit!

Kim Kardashian

Im dedicating this post to Kim Kardashian for one reason and one reason only! Her makeup is ALWAYS amazing. I dont know who her makeup artist is but im already their Number 1 fan!! The colours she wears whether its her eyeshadow, her lipstick/gloss or her blusher, all suit her skin tone and make her face radiant.

Pixiwoo did a great tutorial on how to achieve Kim's smokey eye look! AMAZING!
